handcrafted Gemstone Jewelry - Russian Alexandrite

Alexandrite is a collection of chrysoberyl that displays a color change depending on the nature of the ambient lighting under which it is shone. Alexandrite is on of the few semi-precious gemstones discovered that displays a color change. The stone is hard and tough, so it is excellent for handcrafted gemstone jewelry.

This semi-precious gemstone is the supervene from small scale exchange of aluminium by chromium ions in the crystalline structure. This causes the stone to take in and digest light over a narrow range of wavelengths.

Under a normal (yellowish) lightbulb or incandescent light, Russian alexandrite turns from the color green to a purplish red. In natural and fluorescent light, Alexandrite is a clear green, with no other color such as grey or brown. This form of alexandrite is very rare and can only be found in the Ural Mountains in Russia. Other varieties can be yellow by daylight and pink by incandescent light, but they aren't as vital as the green/red Alexanrite.

Alexandrite was first discovered by a Finnish minerologist, Nils Gustaf Nordenskiold on the to-be Tsar Alexander's sixteenth birthday, April, 1834. As a result, Nils named this stone in honor of the emperor. Nils is sometimes confused with his son, Adolf Erick Nordenskoil. When Nils first discovered Alexandrite, he mistook it for emerald.

Alexandrite is a hard stone and looks very elegant set in a ring or a pendant. Its color change distinguishes it from other gemstones.

Some of the less vital alexandrite gemstones are blue/green in the daytime and purple/red in incandescent light. Alexandrite has also been found in Brazil, Burma, India, but these gemstones have been found to be not quite as good as the Russian and should hopefully cost less.

Alexandrite has a hardness of 8.5 on the Moh's scale. It is a hard gemstone and is often carved into an oval, pear or cushion to be set in a silver or gold gemstone ring.

It is a good idea or leading to check the carat weight of your alexandrite. 1 carat is about 0.20 grans. Usually, a ring or pendant is sold with 0.75 of a carat. Two carats are very rare and usually quite expensive.

It is crutial to check the stone and the band's thickness. A ring and stone must be the same thickness. Alexandrite goes very well with gold, but can also look nice with white gold or silver. When purchasing a silver gemstone ring it is leading to look at the back of the ring to make sure it has a fulfilled, look. The back of the band and stone should be just as well polished as the front.

Fake Alexandrite is also sold now days. If it happens to be fake, the color change will be slightly different. In the sunlight, it will show more shades of blue than of green. In incandescent light, it will be violet instead of red. It should be selling very cheaply. The best way to avoid fake alexadrite is to buy from a reputable seller, because it is hard to check its quality inside the shop. If it is being sold as a real alexandrite and you find out it is nothing else but fake, it is obvious that you should avoid that seller.

The purest Alexandrite still comes of the Ural Mountains in Russia. It is very rare. However, there are mines in Brazil, Burrma, and Tumndura who also mine alexandrite, but this Alexandrite is a blueish green and dark purple.

Once you have bought your Alexandrite it is very leading to look after it. If looked after properly it can be treasured for a life time. Try to get it remounted as exiguous as possible. As any other gemstone, it is leading to keep it away from other chemicals and hard solutions. Do not expose it to sharp blows and heavy scrubbing, which would very likely affect the color.

Musical request for retrial Wall Clocks - Rhythm Magic request for retrial

Musical Clocks are a fun way to keep a house on schedule. With a busy family, we often are distracted and don't realize how fast time is passing. Often I will sit down at the computer to check emails or check in on Facebook and before I know it an hour has passed when I only meant to spend a minute. Having a musical clock reminds the household that time is passing and prompts us to use our time more wisely. I think a musical clock is better for reminding us of the passing of time than resorting to using the market breaks of Tv programming to judge the time. Seiko has one of the best musical clocks which, besides playing tuneful melodies, also puts on a visual show with lights and movement. Look for Seiko's Melodies in request for retrial for a wide range of beautifully elegant clocks with tuneful music.

These clocks have many separate themes, Musical Stars or Sugar Plum Fairies are some of the most favorite clocks. Seiko also has sport or fairy tale themed clocks. The range makes it easy to find a clock that fits your personality or would make a perfect gift for person you know. Seiko is a well-known brand that is known for its fine workmanship so you know that you will get a timepiece that will last for many years. One of the nice features of Seiko is that it always plays an occasion and conclusion tune to alert you when a performance is about to begin. This is especially nice for children who want to see the clock perform. It is a fun bedtime ritual for kids or grandkids to see the clock accomplish and then know that it is time for bed. Even if you don't want clocks that play on the hour, Seiko Melodies in request for retrial Clocks are visually remarkable and the music and movement is an added bonus.

Rhythm Magic request for retrial clocks are gorgeous clocks. I know an owner of one of Rhythm's Timecracker Series, who bought the clock because it looked so nice and was pleasantly surprised when she found out it could play music and had movement also. besides being great finding clocks, one of the Rhythm clocks best features is its music. Rhythm has such a wide range of music to select from that a shopper is bound to find the perfect clock for them. The music ranges from classical to hymns or even Beatles tunes. Many clocks also have a holiday selection that you can choose. This would be a great way to bring the holiday spirit into your home every hour on the hour. Rhythm clocks are also noted for their complex movement. Most musical clocks that have dials that open ordinarily have only three or four exciting parts. Rhythm clocks often have six or more parts that move on their clock faces.

Rhythm clocks also often have a greater musical selection for each of their clocks. Instead of having six melodies that play throughout the day, Rhythm Magic request for retrial clocks sometimes have as many as eighteen separate melodies to select. With so many melodies to select from, you never get tired of hearing your music clock perform. Rhythm clocks also seem to have a larger library of music to go for from. They offer holiday selections, classical selections, and contemporary musical selections. Some of Rhythm clocks even offer hymns as a choice. The craftsmanship of Rhythm clocks is perfect and will last straight through many years of good memories and will likely become an heirloom to be passed down to the next generation. Musical clocks are just a great expanding to any home or room and, as my friend discovered, look gorgeous even if you don't know that they play music.

History of the Accutron Watches

There have been songs written about, curses thrown at it, and bittersweet memories where we are lost in it. Of procedure we are talking about time. It is one of the most sought after commodities in the world. It makes sense that habitancy would want watches and timepieces that are able to keep accurate time. In the early 1960's, a great man by the name of Max Hetzel revolutionized the technology used to keep accurate time and the Accutron watch dynasty was born.

Using a fully separate formula for producing watches than ever before the Bulova Watch Company, with Mr. Hetzel, came up with the idea to make watches using tuning fork technology. No one had ever done this before. The tuning fork formula had been used with good success in clocks before, but never was mass produced. unmistakably no one had ever attempted to miniaturize the components before. Max Hetzel began his research and amelioration of this new concept in 1953. The very first prototypes of the Accutron watches were man-made in 1955. In the Bulova Headquarters in New York, Mr. Hetzel, along with William Bennett, performed further study and amelioration of this astonishing watch manufacture technique. It wasn't until 1960 that the first mass produced tuning fork Accutron watches were released to the public.

In order to understand how foremost and developed the introduction to the tuning fork watches was, it is foremost to be aware of the typical technology used at the time. Every other watch enterprise was still relying on the customary balance wheel and hairspring formula of watch construction. This type of formula had been used for over 300 years in watch making. Obviously this is a fairly accurate formula for holding time, but the Accutron watches were able to be so accurate that the makers promised that the watch would never change more than a tiny in either direction over the procedure of a month. The more conventional watches of the time also had a ticking sound associated with their balance wheel and hairspring. In incompatibility the Accutron watches were characterized with a humming sound, due the sound the tiny tuning fork inside produces. Many habitancy will remember the jerky motion made by the second hand on conventional watches. In yet another drastic difference, the watches engineered by Mr. Hetzel had a fluid, level motion in the second hand.

The differences in the middle of the two types of watches didn't stop there. The appearance of the watches was markedly separate as well. We have already discussed how the second hands differed, but there are some other external differences as well. The early models of the Accutron watch weren't produced with a graphic crown. That means that a recessed cope on the back of the watch case controls the setting mechanism. Later models had an even more stunning difference. They didn't have a dial at all. It was pretty difficult to not consideration that the Accutron watches didn't have a conventional movement.

The new features didn't stop at the external appearance of the Accutron watches either. The insides were fairly separate as well. Of course, this was the first time a tuning fork in tiny form, had ever been used in the construction of a watch. That's why it produced a humming sound as opposed to the ticking of conventional watches. These watches were also determined the first electronic watches because they were the first to use a transistorized circuit. In the early 1960's, this was a huge breakthrough in technology. The firsts of the Accutron just keep coming. It was also the first watch to be produced with plastic parts. Plastics were used to safe the circuitry of the Accutron. For the first time ever, there was a watch made that was easy to assistance and more trustworthy due to the fact that it has fewer parts than conventional watches. It's clear to see why the production of these watches was a revolutionary amelioration in timepiece history.

While it is unmistakably true that the normal communal loved the new technology and reliability given by the Accutron watches, the U.S. Government found some astonishing uses for it as well. It was first used in the Explorer Vii missile. Due to its astonishing accurate time holding abilities, it was used to turn off the radio equipment on the satellite according to specific requirements. The astronauts of the Apollo wore Accutron watches due to their precision. In the 1960's it was the selected timepiece when accuracy was essential.

Max Hetzel, the Bulova Watch Company, and the whole team complicated in the creation of the tuning fork Accutron watches have a lot to be proud of.

Types of Watch Movements

Manual Wind Watches:

Collectors find these kind of watches attractive, even though they are manual wind watches, which means that the user has to wind it every one or two days by the crown in order to work. Once the wearer winds the crown the watch will keep a power sustain in the mechanism that will keep the watch running until the next winding. Maybe these timepieces are desirable because it could be said that it is the classic way to read the time, since they were the first type of movement. They are still produced in Switzerland by fine watch producers such as Jaeger-Lecoultre and Franck Muller and can even cost over 0,000 when they come accompanied by complications. Some exclusive models can sustain up to 18 days of power and will regularly have power-reserve indicator on the face.

Automatic Watches:

They are called automated or self-winding because the wearer does not need to wind the watch to generate power, the watch winds itself automatically once a someone moves the wrist. The arm appeal causes the rotor, a metal weight attached to a winding mechanism, to rotate back and forth in a circular appeal to wind the mainspring, a flat coiled spring that powers mechanical watches.

Quartz Watches:

These type of watches do not need much maintenance, only a change of battery every other year. These watches are only powered by a battery. However there is a special kind of quartz watch that could be called a hybrid, a mix of automated and quartz. In other words the watch comes with an electrical generator that is charged by the movement of wearer's wrist . These watches are sold by Japanese or Swiss fellowships such as Seiko, Tissot , and Omega under model names called "Kinetic", "Autoquartz"or "Omegamatic . The third type of Quartz watch get their power from the sun. These solar watches have solar cells located on the dial that payment the watch mechanism. The most popular of these solar watches is without doubt the citizen "Eco-Drive".

The Seiko Dive Watch Snm035 simply Looks Good

Good looks can be one of the best reasons for buying a dive watch. We cannot all become professional divers or serious amateurs, but many of us can appreciate a extremely functional timing instrument like the Seiko automated Dive Watch Snm035. Designed according to its functions and features, in excellent dive watch style, the Seiko Snm035 looks more like a tool than a fashion accessory, and to me that's its appeal. What many of us like about a watch designed and built for the rigors of diving is that no-nonsense utility appearance. Still, if you happen to dive, what a tool it is.

The dive tool features of the Seiko Snm035 include its bold, unidirectional rotating bezel with 60-minute scale and luminous label at the 12 o'clock position for delivering crucial dive time data. For those of you who may not be aware, dive bezels are unidirectional so that if they are bumped or otherwise accidentally adjusted, the dive time that the bezel is set to gauge can only be shortened. Otherwise, if the bezel were bidirectional, a diver could unexpectedly run out of air, because the "adjusted" bezel readout indicates more available underwater time than air tank capacity permits.

Besides the vital timing bezel, a watch made for diving needs to be clearly legible in low light or murky conditions. For that reason, this Seiko watch is designed with large luminous hands and hour markers. Do these over-sized hands and markers make a fashion statement? Well, they are important and obvious, so yes they do, but the purpose behind them is not style but function--viz., clear legibility. An underwater instrument also needs to resist water under pressure from getting inside, so the Seiko Snm035, with its twin screwdown crowns and screwdown caseback, is built to withstand submersion to 200 meters, far deeper than most of us will ever need to go.

The harsh underwater environment also demands high endurance and corrosion resistance, so the Seiko Snm035 dive watch is crafted with 316L surgical grade stainless steel for optimum longevity. Nevertheless, a freshwater rinse is still advisable after exposure to salt water. The bangle that holds this watch in place is also made with 316L stainless steel, and adequate with a fold-over push-button deployment security clasp and a dive postponement for fitting snugly over a wet suit or other outer wear.

One of the most unavoidable features of the Seiko Snm035 is its size. Dubbed the "Monster," its 45mm x 15mm case is quite a wrist full that makes a very strong impression. Once again, the purpose behind the large size is not fashion per se, but function. The Monster's dimensions furnish easy readouts, and make its function rich features possible, which includes housing a fine Seiko automated movement within.

Because strict timing is crucial for prosperous diving adventures, accuracy and reliability are all important. Here the Seiko 7s35 automatic/self-winding movement, with 21 jewels and 42 hour power withhold is well up to the challenge. automated movement means that you never need to worry about a battery giving out just when you need the time most, a very useful highlight when your life may depend upon precision timing.

As if all of the above were not enough, Seiko has adequate its Monster dive watch with a 360-degree compass scale on the dial flange which is fully rotatable for setting bearings and solar/stellar navigation, made adjustable by the crown at the 4 o'clock position (the crown at 2 o'clock adjusts date and time).

To wrap up, the Seiko automated Dive Watch Snm035, the Monster, does precisely make a dramatic fashion statement, undergirded by the top tier functionality spelled out above. It projects images of extreme adventures and risk-taking in harsh environments, and with its function-oriented, tool-like design, it conveys reliance in the face of challenges. In short, it naturally looks good, for those who dive and for those of us who may never dive.

These are the colours that make these watches finally feminine while being sporty.

looking at Brand Name Wall Clocks

When considering a piece of art for your walls, it is leading to take into account the artist. In this case, we are talking about wall clocks and the 'artists' are the brands behind the clocks themselves. In a very real sense, they are the same thing. If you want a potential piece of art, you seek out a very great artist. There are many types of art, but it would be fair to say that in the case of a clock, design, craftsmanship and potential are leading characteristics.

There are many dissimilar brands of clocks to select from. Some of my popular styles come from notable brands such as Bulova and Seiko. Interestingly, Seiko is a Japanese brand that started out as Seikosha. Both of these brands are probably more well known for their watches than their clocks here in the United States at least. an additional one nice option in clock institute and craftsmanship is Hermle. These are known for nice lines and craftsmanship. You can shop for them in one of their three categories: elegant, classical and contemporary.

Another very popular option is the Howard Miller wall clock brand. Within this brand, you can find a range of modern styles. This company was started in 1926 by 21 year old Howard Miller. He was trained by his father in the Black Forest region of Germany. The company became popular for their focus on grandfather clocks that began in the 1960s. Since then, they have continued to create finely crafted hanging time pieces.

Another player in the wall clock market is Infinity Instruments. They are a relatively new company and have many affordable styles. Their look is more modern with large wall clocks being one of note. While they have dissimilar looks, the majority seem to be well designed for today's modern home decors. Many dissimilar styles of circular clocks are their signature. If you are finding for a pendulum clock or something like an ancient wall clock with a wooden case, you should look to one of the other brands.

Finally, I'd like to mention Seth Thomas as an additional one builder of wall clocks. This company is an additional one that has been nearby for a long time. The company is America's oldest clockmaker since 1813. Can you believe that? This company has the safe bet honor of having their clock in Grand Central center in New York City. Now, their clocks for your home's walls, can be a bit more subdued and refined. They remain one of the nicest choices for your notice in the wall clock market.

Mens Breitling Watches - The Chronomat Evolution

For many years I hankered after a capability wristwatch. I've all the time liked the chronometer styles watches and, when I was younger, Seiko was my preferred brand. That was until I grew up and discovered Breitling watches. The main question with Breitling watches is that, well, they're not exactly at the cheap end of the scale. So, when I got a minute bonus from work a few years ago, I seized the opportunity and headed down to the local jewellers shop and got myself one. The best thing about my men's Breitling wristwatch, is that no matter either I'm in formal attire , lounging about the yard, or even swimming at the condition club, my Breitling watch doesn't seem out of place.

The Breitling watch I finally located on was the Chronomat Evolution, which is Breitling's best selling watch, and it's not hard to see why. This stunning timepiece was originally created to for the world noted Frecce Tricolori, the Italian air force display team. Over the years Breitling have tweaked its build and it is now considered by many people, myself included, to be the most technically ended watch in their total range. It shares build features with any other Breitling watches, things like the excellent 3 sub-dials, one for recording seconds, one for 10 minute intervals and a 3 hour interval sub-dial. For the technically minded, the movement is an Eta Valjoux 7750 and the casing diameter is 43.7mm and is 17.1mm thick. My watch has a black face with white dials, but there are several other variations to this build available.

So, would I suggest a Breitling watch to others. Absolutely. Their accuracy and robustness are legendary and, because they are recognised as a high capability brand their resale value is fantastic. Many celebrities have openly endorsed them, with starts like Usher and David Beckham recently buying into the brand, so their profile has never been higher. You cant hide from their history either. Mens Breitling wristwatches have been the selection of aviators for over a hundred years now, and their pedigree is second to none.

Mission-Vision Statements

Mission Statements and foresight Statements are created to clearly convey the direction of the company. fellowships without a meaningful Mission / foresight statement tend to be rudderless.

Mission and foresight Statements are all over the map. Some fellowships only have one or the other, while other fellowships will use a Mission Statement as a foresight Statement and vice versa. Used properly, Mission Statements and foresight Statements are grand tools. They supply employees with a business direction. They supply the reply to which activities to pursue and which not to pursue. If an operation does not help your business move toward its vision, then don't do it.

Mission Statements

The prime audience for a mission statement is the employees of the company. A Mission Statement should be concise. It should reflect the company's business strategy and focus on the customer. It should reply three questions:

- What do we do?
- How do we do it?
- For whom do we do it?

What do we do? This examine should not be answered in terms of what you are selling to your customer. It is about how your stock or assistance solves their psychological need. Your buyer expressed 'frustration' over some qoute and by purchasing your stock or service, their 'frustration' is now gone.

How we do it? This reply should deal with the stock or assistance that you are selling, how you will sell it and how it is delivered to the customer. It should fit with the psychological need expressed above.

For whom do we do it? This reply should identify who we will be marketing to.

Geico example - It is foremost that when severe weather threatens, you know where to turn for data to ensure that you, your loved ones and your vehicle are safe. Auto damage adjusters from nearby the country will help cope the claims this storm season. These adjusters will remain in affected areas as long as necessary to take care of you and every Geico customer.

- What do we do? When weather threatens, we want to make you feel safe
- How we do it? Use adjusters from nearby the country
- For whom we do it? Our customers

Vision Statements

A foresight is a statement about what your business will look like in the future - say 10 years from now. A foresight should stretch the organization's capabilities and image of itself. It gives shape and direction to the organization's future. It should be fairly short and easy to remember. Let's look at some examples...

Microsoft example - Bill Gates' preliminary foresight was to have a computer on every desk. Employees at Microsoft worked to make the computer useful [applications that citizen wanted] and they worked to make it easy to use. Today, their foresight is to help citizen and businesses throughout the world perceive their full potential. The preliminary foresight had more meaning.

Sony example - Sony is a foremost maker of audio, video, communications, and data technology products for the consumer and pro markets. Its appeal picture, television, computer entertainment, music and online businesses make Sony one of the most thorough entertainment fellowships in the world. Their foresight could be clearer, something like 'Sony will be the most thorough entertainment business in the world' or 'the world will look to Sony for thorough entertainment'.

Boeing example - Boeing has a long tradition of aerospace leadership and innovation. We continue to expand our stock line and services to meet emerging buyer needs. This foresight is rather vague - they should be proposing what they believe those emerging buyer needs will be.

Aerovironment example - Av develops and produces Unmanned Aircraft Systems and effective electric vigor Technologies that enable our customers to rewrite the rules - of engagement, productivity, efficiency and protection - to their advantage. Aerovironment is a small business that went public recently. Their foresight statement is quite clear.

While doing this research, I found it much easier to find a foresight statement from a smaller company. The bigger fellowships didn't always post their vision. Smaller fellowships appear to be more in tune to their foresight than bigger companies. However, I would propose that it is a mistake for a bigger business not to have a foresight statement. It provides direction. What will the business be selling in the future? What does our buyer base want? It keeps focus on developing the stock or assistance of the future. It promotes innovation. It keeps you ahead of your competition.

There is an old saying - If you don't know where you are going then it doesn't matter how you get there. But if you know your final destination [your vision] then you and your employees will select the paths that will help you get there.

Running With a transported Metronome

If you do not run with a movable metronome -- the kind that clips on your waist band or hydration belt and reliably beeps at whatever rate you elect -- then you may not know how critical one can be to keep you running with a steady cadence.

What is cadence, and how does it review to pace?

Your cadence is the estimate of steps that you take per minute. Your pace is normally defined as the estimate of minutes that it takes you to run a mile, although it can be defined per kilometer instead of mile. Your pace is defined by your cadence and your stride, which is the length of your step.

For example, if your running cadence is 160 steps per minute, and your running tour is 3 feet per step, then your running pace is exactly 11:00/mile. (160 steps per limited times 3 feet per step times 11 minutes = 5,280 feet, which equals one mile.)

But suppose you want to improve your pace -- that is, cut the time that it takes you to run one mile.

You could increase your stride, but overstriding can be injurious. Or you could increase your cadence; in other words, you could increase the "turnover" rate of your feet.

And a movable metronome will help you to reliably increase your cadence so that you can improve your pace!

Continuing the above example, if you were to increase your cadence to 200 steps/minute while keeping your tour at 3 feet per step, then your running pace would improve to 8:48/mile -- 2:12/mile best than the original pace. Over the length of a marathon (26.21875 miles), this would cut your marathon time by more than 57:40. (Wow!)

Or suppose that you want to keep your pace the same but sell out your tour so that you become less likely to compose an overstriding injury (perhaps based on advice from a sports physiologist or health-care professional).

You can use a movable metronome to help you to reliably increase your cadence with that shorter tour so that your pace remains constant!

Still continuing the above example, if you were to increase your cadence to 200 steps/minute while keeping your running pace at 11:00/mile, then you could sell out your tour to just 2' 4.8" per step -- more than 7 inches shorter than the original stride!

So take your selection on what you want to achieve with a movable metronome:

You can use it to improve your pace by expanding your cadence while keeping your tour what it was. You can use it to shorten your tour to a safer, less-injury-prone length per step by expanding your cadence while keeping your pace the same. You can even mix these two techniques to improve your pace a bit while shortening your tour a bit.

Whatever you choose, happy running!
